Sri Lanka at ‘International Day’ at New English School, Jordan

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jordan participated at the International Day at the New English School in Kaldha on February 25, 2020 to promote Sri Lanka as a unique tourist destination and to showcase Sri Lanka’s heritage. The New English School has students from 40 nationalities and nearly 39 nationalities participated at this event. This is the first time that the Embassy has participated in the International Day at the New English School.

The Embassy exhibited handicrafts, porcelain items, traditional masks, batik paintings and handloom material. Ceylon tea from 7 different regions were served to educate Jordanians on the different varieties of tea produced in Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan key tags gifted by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Board and Ceylon tea in laminated pouches gifted by the Sri Lanka Tea Board were given away to the visitors, while Sri Lankan delicacies were served to the attendees.

Sri Lankan tourism brochures in Arabic language were displayed to generate interest in the country.
