The INNOTECH 2020 Technology and Innovation Exhibition will be held from March 11-14, 2020 in Pitipana, Homagama , Information, Mass Media, Higher Education, Technology and Innovation Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena said yesterday.
He was speaking at a media briefing held at Department of Information. Dr. Gunawardena also said that 1200 innovations from 400 schools including Northern and Eastern Provinces will be exhibited at the INNOTECH 2020.
The exhibition will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Dr. Gunawardena pointed out that special transport arrangements will be made available for the public attending the exhibition.
The exhibition is organized under the guidance of Information, Mass Media, Higher Education, Technology and Innovation Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena in collaboration with the Education Minister Dullas Alahapperuma and under the chairmanship of State Minister of Technology and Innovation Thilanga Sumathipala. All institutes coming under the Ministry of Higher Education, Technology and Innovation and State Ministry of Technology and Innovation in collaboration with the Ministry of Education will showcase their exhibits in the different zones.
Explaining the objective of INNOTECH 2020, Minister Dr. Gunawardena said that their main intention is to showcase the research and development outcomes and innovations of the institutes and universities operating under the purview of the Ministry and promoting science literacy at all levels of society.
Minister Dr.Gunawardena said that entrance to the exhibition is free. The Minister also said that they are seeking the possibility of continuing the exhibition while allocating its income to strengthen the Mahapola Scholarship Fund.
