Chairman of the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka Damitha Wickremesinghe, thanked the new President for placing suitable and clean people into positions of power in State institutions. He said the country was in urgent need of industrialization. He said that he would work alongside the President to reach the goal of 90 percent local production by the year 2025. Wickremesinghe said that the Vocational Training Authority should become ‘open for business’ and take a more commercially proactive role in society. He said that the output of training may not be in line with the needs of the industry and that he would make the necessary reforms.
