Virus cannot stop country’s development work - Amaraweera

The corona virus spreading in other countries will not be an issue for us to curtail development in our country, Passenger Transport and Power and Energy Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said.The Minster was speaking at a daham hamuwa at the Wathukanda Viharaya in Angunakolapelessa.

He said that some people wear masks in fear of contracting the virus that is in countries thousands of miles away from Sri Lanka.

“They are even afraid of travelling by a bus if Chinese nationals travel in it,” the Minister said.

“A very high number of Chinese nationals work at various development schemes in our country.

Strict measures have been taken at two airports and two sea ports to prevent corona virus from entering here,” he said.
