Aficionados of fine paper and environment-conscious users will have an opportunity to examine a new range of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified, 100 per cent recycled special papers and boards at the Papyrus Papers stall at the upcoming Sri Lanka Print 2020 Exhibition.

Sri Lanka’s leading supplier of ‘guilt-free’ FSC Certified papers, Papyrus Papers has announced it will launch the new range at stall number 13 in Hall ‘B’ of the BMICH at the exhibition, which runs from March 13-15. The stall itself will be of an innovative design, constructed with eco-friendly and biodegradable materials, in keeping with the theme of the exhibition – ‘The Gateway to Southeast Asia & Beyond through Sustainability in Printing & Packaging’ – the company said.

Papyrus Papers has been promoting the concept of ‘green printing’ in Sri Lanka for the past decade and will display its new range of special papers and boards at the stall as well as at the Innovation Lab at the exhibition. Representatives of the Company will assist visitors with information regarding the FSC certification, recycled paper and information on the broad spectrum of colours and grammages of paper featured on the swatches.

Commenting on the launch of the new range at the exhibition, Ashan Abeyesundere, Chairman and CEO of Papyrus Corporation said: “Papyrus Papers has long understood the need to give printers and their end users sustainable solutions in the paper they use. Sustainable printing contributes to cutting costs, saving the environment, being health conscious and minimising waste of paper, ink, energy and finances.”

The printing industry in Sri Lanka is now moving with the global trend of promoting sustainable print solutions, and since the country is strategically located in the Indian Ocean, it has ample opportunity to be the print hub of South East Asia, Mr Abeyesundere said.

“As the dominant FSC certified fine paper supplier in the country, Papyrus Papers is fully geared to meet a consequent increase in demand,” he added. The Forest Stewardship Council sets standards for responsible forest management. A voluntary program, FSC uses the power of the marketplace to protect forests for future generations.FSC certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.
