The British School in Colombo (BSC) stormed into the semi-finals of the Inter-International Schools Under-17 Cricket Tournament with a smashing 59-run victory over Lyceum, Nugegoda in the quarter-finals worked off at the Shalika Grounds in Narahenpita.

BSC, despite losing a wicket in the very first over, hammered a formidable 220 for five from their allotted 29 overs after having elected to bat first. The consistent Pradyun Saikia led the fightback once again with a top score of 96 from just 61 deliveries inclusive of five sixes and 15 boundaries.

BSC then consolidated their position with Dillon David making 37 studded with four sixes and all-rounder Vishnu Praveen contributing a useful 29 from just 14 deliveries.

Lyceum in reply got off to a solid start and were well placed at 115 for two in the 17th over with Hasidu Perera making a top score of 66. However, BSC came back into the game through their spinners Aaryan Amalean (3/17) and Kavinda Subasinhge (2/42) as Lyceum were eventually dismissed for 161 runs.

BSC: 220/5 in 29 overs (Pradyun Saikia 96, Kavya Shukla 33, Dillon David 37, Vishnu Praveen 29)

Lyceum: 161 in 29 overs (Hasidu Perera 66, Duvindu Silva 38, Aaryan Amalean 3/17, Kavinda Subasinhge 2/42).
