Seven people under observation for COVID-19

Seven people are currently under observation for the COVID-19 virus as at yesterday (Friday), according to the latest statistics issued by the Epidemiology Unit.

There are three people at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID), two at the Negombo DGS, one at the Gampaha DGH and one patient at the Rathnapura TH.

Health Ministry sources said in the current Sri Lankan context, there is no scientific justification for the public to wear face masks.

“Only air passengers from South Korea are to be covered under this new decision and they will be allowed to go to their destinations in Sri Lanka and are required to confine themselves to those places for 14 days, if they suffer from any sort of sickness,” the sources said.
