Showers expected in several provinces

A few showers may occur in Eastern coastal area, said the Department of Meteorology.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Sabaragamuwa province and in Kaluthara, Galle and Matara districts after 2.00 p.m.

Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere.

Wind speed can increase up to 40 kmph at times North-western province and in Hambantota, Monaragala, Ampara, Batticaloa and Mannar districts.

General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
