‘Drink more water to beat the heat’

People should drink more water and keep drinking water in small quantities all all times to beat the current heatwave. People should also avoid walking in the hot sun, Health Ministry sources said.

According to sources, people should avoid exercising in the hot sun, always wear caps, hats etc and wear the right attire to protect themselves from the hot sun. The body temperature can go up due to hot weather.

“People should take adequate precautions about possible heat stroke that could affect them due to the hot weather and increase in body temperature. The main symptoms of heat stroke are increased body temperature, severe headache, faintness, lifelessness, weakened muscles, cramps and short of breath,” sources said.

School children should not be allowed to indulge in outdoor activities which cause excessive sweating under the hot sun between 11 am and 3 pm these days.
