CEB, CPC should cooperate to avert Power Sector issues: Amaraweera

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) should cooperate in order to prevent future issues in the Power Sector, Power and Energy Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said.

He was speaking at a meeting held at the Petroleum Ministry on Monday to evaluate the issues faced by the Power Sector. The minister also appointed a six-member committee to provide him with daily reports regarding the matter, a communiqué issued by the Power and Energy Ministry stated.

The said committee is headed by an Additional Secretary of the Power and Energy Ministry, and is also comprised of two CEB officials, two CPC officials, and one other Ministry official.

Minister Amaraweera also urged the committee to solve all issues in the Power Sector without inconveniencing the public.
