Drunken husband attacked with axe

A woman and a man have been arrested for severely injuring her husband by attacking him with an axe in Uva Paranagama, Maspanna on February 8, Uva Paranagama police said. The woman and the man, a tuition teacher, have attacked the husband at his house, police said. The injured has been admitted to the Badulla Hospital. The suspect, a tuition teacher, has been conducting classes for the woman’s two children and on the day, her husband had arrived home drunk and assaulted her which led to the retaliation.

Uva Paraganagama police are investigating.
