Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived in India beginning his four day state visit to India on the invitation of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister Rajapaksa was received at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi by India’s Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Communications and Electronics and Information Technology Dhotre Sanjay Shamrao and the staff of the High Commission of Sri Lanka in New Delhi. The Prime Minister will hold high level bilateral discussions with his Indian counterpart today and call on Indian President Ramnath Kovinth in the evening. Indian Foreign Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar is also expected to call on the Prime Minister tomorrow.
