Suspected corona virus case in Jaffna

A patient who is suspected to have contracted the contagious coronavirus has been transferred from the Jaffna Tellippalai Hospital to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital. The individual is said to be a businessman who had returned to Jaffna from a recent trip to China and Qatar.

He was admitted to the Tellippalai Hospital due to high fever and respiratory difficulties. When his condition worsened, he was transferred to the Jaffna Teaching hospital due to fears that he may have contracted the contagious coronavirus during his recent business trip. Specialists and physicians at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital are conducting further investigations to ascertain his condition. Earlier, a patient with similar symptoms was reported in the Mullaitivu Hospital. However, test results showed that he had not contracted the virus.
