Navy assists Ruhuna University Oceanography research programme

A group of students at the University of Ruhuna conducted a research programme on Oceanography with the assistant of the Navy on the seas off Rumassala, last Sunday.

This was mentioned in a press release issued by the Navy Media Unit, yesterday.

Seventeen 2nd-year students and 10 staff personnel of the Oceanography and Geography Research Unit of the Ruhuna University participated in this programme, which was conducted to take saline water samples from the Rumassala sea area for laboratory analysis in view of enhancing the practical knowledge of the students.

Naval personnel were also deployed to assists the research work on the directives of the Commander of the Southern Naval Area.
