The Consulate General of India in Hambantota celebrated the 71st Republic Day of India on Sunday, January 26, at the Consulate premises in Hambantota, a press release issued by the Consulate General of India, Hambantota said.
Consul General Prem Kumar Nair unfurled the Indian flag and read out the address to the nation by the President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind.
About 50 guests including, the Deputy Mayor and councillors of the Hambantota Municipal Council, the DIG - Tangalle, the Commanding Officer of the Yala - Kirinda Army Base, Acting Commander of the Naval Base Hambantota, representatives from the District Secretary’s office, senior Government officials, local police officers and the business community participated in the flag hoisting ceremony.
