Five member police committee to study tape extracts

Acting IGP C.D.Wickremaratne has appointed a five member committee including three DIGs to study extracts of copies related to telephone conversations between Embilipitiya High Court Judge Gihan Pilapitiya and MP Ranjan Ramanayake and make recommendations on the matter, a communiqué issued by the Police media division said.

The actin12g IGP’s decision follows the Attorney General’s order to the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) to obtain a warrant for the arrest of interdicted High Court Judge Gihan Pilapitiya.
