Errant traders in Kurunegala fined

Five errant traders who were found guilty of selling biscuits, bread and soft drinks not suitable for human consumption were fined Rs. 35,000 by Kurunegala Additional Magistrate Namal Perera on Thursday (23).

The accused were identified as residents of Boyagane, Malpitiya and Vehera.

The stocks of biscuits and soft drinks have been confiscated. Sandamali Nishshanka, an officer of the Consumer Affairs Unit attached to the Kurunegala Kachcheri produced them in court.
