Measures implemented to introduce an insurance scheme for journalists in profession throughout the country and steps to discuss with Heads of Media Institutions in formulating a program to ensure that journalists are paid their monthly allowances properly was discussed by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Prime Minister made this statement when he met the Sri Lanka Press Association members of the Matale District at his office in Parliament.
The group of journalists who visited the Parliament to observe and be educated of its proceedings also had the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister and have a brief discussion.
