Presidential Commission records former TID head’s statement

The Presidential Commission investigating the Easter Sunday attacks has recorded a detailed statement from DIG Nalaka de Silva, a former head of the Terrorism Investigation Division, who is now under interdiction.

The statement, recorded for three days, was concluded on January 21. Sources said he had divulged information regarding the action taken against Zahran by the Terrorism Investigation Division, and also about extremist Muslim organisations, in his long statement. Nalaka de Silva is due to be summoned before the commission again to record a further statement.
