Bus driver, conductor remanded

A bus a driver and a conductor were remanded till January 21 for transporting 51 gelignite capsules from Colombo to Mannar by the Vavuniya Magistrate on January 18.

The haul of gelignite in a bag was found in a bus plying from Colombo to Mannar by Army and police personnel in Settikulam, Vavuniya recently.

The driver, the conductor and the passengers in the bus were clueless about the bag when they were questioned about it by security personnel. The driver and the conductor were arrested thereafter.

Settikulam police are investigating.
