Govt to launch new housing programme

The government has taken measures to launch a new housing programme to build a new house in each of the 14,022 villages in the country and the construction activities of these houses are scheduled to be started before January 31 this year, Housing Facilities State Minister Indika Anuruddha said.

Addressing a media conference held today at the Temple Trees, State Minister Anuruddha said that the cabinet approval has already been granted to provide Rs 8420 million for this purpose.
