Under 10 Inter-Academy Cricket Championship organized and conducted by the Colombo Primer Cricket Foundation (CPCF) was successfully completed with the grand final between hosts CPCF and CCC School of Cricket’Maroons’ at the Dudley Senanayake School grounds, with C.C.C ‘Maroons’ team winning easily by 7 wickets. Incidentally, CCC won the U-09 Tournament last year.

C.C.C. School of Cricket, who won last year, too was unbeaten in the Tournament. They beat Brendon Kuruppu C.A, Asian Grammar School, S.A. Cricket Academy, Moratissa and Malintha Warnapura C.A. In the semilinal CCC met S.S.C ‘Blue’ and beat them by 131 runs.

Chief Scores: - C.C.C. ‘Maroons’ - 278/3 in 30 overs.

CCC met the hosts team CPCF in the final - CPCF won the toss and elected to bat first scored 143/9. CCC ‘Maroon’s reached the winning target with seven wickets intact.

At the Awards Presentation, CCC players Reshon Solomons won the awards for Man of the Final, while, Tharun Aritaratne won the Best Bowler award.

Other CCC players who did well in the Tournament are - Dushen Udawela (Bowling), Rusandu Silva (All-rounder), Jahan Pathirana (All-rounder) and Amad Afdhal (All-rounder).

The team was guided and coached by former Sri Lanka player Rangika Fernando.
