Fulfilled pledges will ensure SLPP’s win at General Elections - Wattala SLPP Chief Organiser

As President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has been implementing his ‘Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour’ manifesto in a tangible manner during the two months since his assumption of office, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP)-led Government will certainly secure more than two-thirds of parliamentary seats at the forthcoming General Election, SLPP Chief Organiser in the Wattala Electorate Neil Rupasinghe said.

He was speaking to the media after a meeting of party supporters at the Wattala SLPP office recently.

Rupasinghe said smaller political parties lost their bargaining power in national politics with the recent Presidential Election. The Gotabaya Rajapaksa Government will go down in history as the first Government set up without the support of political parties representing minority communities. If by chance, a United National Party (UNP) Government was elected to power this time, it would have succumbed to the unhealthy demands of communal parties. Such a situation was averted due to the good fortune of the nation.

Rupasinghe said there had been many requests from party leaders and the public for him to come forward to contest the next General Election, but he has still not taken a final decision on the matter.
