It offers a diverse menu that includes items that are mouthwatering and succulent. The moment you walk into Cannon Bar & Grill, the ambience is what truly impresses you. It is warm and inviting and you are at ease as you tuck into your meal.

The Cannon Bar & Grill is located at the well- known Dutch Hospital precinct in Galle Fort which offers some stiff competition. It was founded in 2014, and now has been revamped or reborn into the restaurant that we have now, operated by the Food Cartel since September 2019.

At the Cannon Bar & Grill they do not compromise on quality. They offer the very best. They offer the Premium Angus Rib Eye steak, Wagyu Tenderloin and many other grills. They also offer specialties such as the local ‘Isso Hodi’, Butter chicken and Thai curry. Cannon Bar & Grill aims at becoming the number 1# destination in Galle when it comes to dining in style.

It is an ideal place for families, couples and groups. When it comes to seating there are 50 seats – 28 indoor and 22 outdoor seats. You are guaranteed a place where you can look at parts of Galle renowned for its beauty while you enjoy your meal.

Of course, the evening is not complete till you have had something to drink. The restaurant provides a wine list from New Zealand, France, South Africa and South America. If also offers a coffee variety – the finest coffee from Italy and a list of non-alcoholic drinks.

The Cannon Bar and Grill operates from 11.30am – 10.00pm. It is located on the upper floor of the Dutch Hospital shopping precinct.

THE MENU OFFERED BY CANNON BAR AND GRILL

Chicken satay- marinated with lemon grass served with a special Singaporean peanut sauce

Butter Chicken - what's unusual about this is its cooked in Greek yogurt, Kashmiri chili, garama masala and fenugreek.

Fort cannon half pounder- Fresh and grounded minced beef carrying up to 225 gms, the patty is seasoned with thyme, rosemary and celery too with ginger served with steak fries .

Lord of the wings - wings cooked in a home- made sauce carrying traces of sriracha and habanero, an amazing treat for an appetizer and when having a drink

Chicken cordon bleu- Old school and the style never changes , we have set it up slightly differently chicken breast wrapped with chicken ham and cheese then crumbed fried and served with a sauce carrying a hint of blue cheese.

The General Daughter - Old reserve twisted with orange and mixed fruit juice , sweet and sour mix . The drink looks very appealing and sweet, but its effect can be quite damaging
