Statements recorded from 345 persons

The Presidential Commission investigating into the Easter Sunday terror attacks has already recorded statements from 345 persons and statements are to be recorded from a number of parties in the future.

A Commission spokesman said that statements were recorded from those who have made complaints to the Commission and those whose names have been mentioned in these complaints.

“Officials attached to the Commission’s Investigation Unit on Thursday visited Lactowatta in Wanathawilluwa where Thawheed Jamath leader Saharan Hashim and his group are said to have been trained.

The officials have also visited the Mawanella, Batticaloa and Pothuhera areas and recorded statements from the people regarding their activities. The term of the Commission is to expire on March 31.
