Four individuals including former Western Province councillor Susil Kindelpitiya who have been charged with possession of a firearm without a valid licence were acquitted by Colombo Additional Magistrate Kanchana Neranjana de Silva yesterday.

Delivering the order, the Magistrate observed that prosecution has failed to prove the charges beyond reasonable doubt.
