Three held for overstaying visas

Mount Lavinia Police on Sunday night arrested three foreign nationals who were staying in the country breaching visa rules.

The suspects include a Qatari national, a Thai national and a Nigerian national. They were arrested while they were in their hotel rooms in the Mount Lavinia area.

The suspects were to be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate yesterday. Meanwhile, Hikkaduwa Police arrested two Swiss nationals in the Millagoda area over the same charge on Sunday.

They were to be produced before the Galle Magistrate yesterday.
