Motor Racing enthusiast Rohitha dies

Retired Air Vice Marshal (Administraion) Rohitha Ranasinghe passed away at the age of 62. A Motor Racing fan he was instrumental in introducing Motor Racing for Sri Lanka Air Force in the year 2009 holding the position as the Chairman of Motor Racing Committee of SLAF.

During his leader ship he was able to set up the Sigiriya Supercross Circuit way back in 2009 with the fullest co-operation from Air Marshal Roshan Gunatilleke for promoting the sport. He obtained the services of Hans Ralph Karpinsky in setting up the Sigiriya Supercross Circuit which has been appreciated by all motor racers and motor Racing Fans as well.

This also serves as one part of Super cross National Motor Racing Championship. His demise leaves a big void in his favourite Club Sri Lanka Association for Racing Drivers and Riders and was a live wire for its organizational activities.

Funeral will take place today at the General Cemetery, Borella at 5.30 p.m
