Central Finance in thrilling win

Central Finance (2019 runners up) snatched a dramatic last ball win, by one wicket, over Ansell Lanka, in the ongoing ‘CBL –Munchee’ Trophy, MCA ‘D’ Division 40 Over League Tournament 2020, which continued last weekend.

The brave Central Finance last pair, C. Jayanetti (16 not out) and J. Tishan (40 not out) held on grimly with an unbroken 61 runs stand. Thus the remarkable double by Ansell Lanka’s Chathura Sanjeewa (46 not out and 08/02/15/06) went in vain.

In two low scoring games, Hirdaramani beat MAS Bodyline by 6 wickets and Maliban beat debutant, Mode Engineering by 3 wickets.

Half tons by Sohan de Mel (56) and Nemesh Fonseka (62) steered NDB to a fine 65 runs win over Melwire Rolling.
