Govt’s new spokespersons appointed

State Minister of Investment Promotion Keheliya Rambukwella and State Minister of Power & Energy Mahindananda Aluthgamage have been appointed as Government Spokesmen, Information and Communication Technology, Higher Education, Technology and Innovations and Co-Cabinet Spokesman Bandula Gunawardana said.

Addressing the weekly cabinet press briefing held at the Government Information Department Auditorium in Colombo today he said that information on non cabinet issues/subjects can be obtained from them on weekly basis.

The cabinet decisions will be announced by co-cabinet spokesmen as usual. Earlier Police Media Spokesman and Army Spokesman appointed in order to communicate information to the country and to the journalists swiftly, he said. “The Acting Inspector General of Police has appointed Superintendent of Police Jaliya Senaratne as the new Police Media Spokesman while Brigadier Chandana Wickramasinghe has been appointed as the new military spokesman,” he added.
