Heroin peddler arrested in Settikulam

A 24-year-old suspect, who had been transporting 1kg of heroin had been arrested in the Settikulam area in Vavuniya, the Police said.

The haul of heroin valued at nearly Rs.10 million, had been seized during a search on a Mannar - bound bus travelling from Colombo.

According to police sources, the youth had obtained the hroin from a dealer in Colombo and was transporting it to be distributed in Mannar. The suspect is a resident of Pooneryn, Kilinochchi.
