Pawan hammers unbeaten ton for MCA ‘Blue’

Pawan Jayawardena from MCA ‘Blue’ (102 not out in 73 balls inclusive of 05 sixes & 12 fours) and Savin Pelpola from Sudath Nanayakkara Academy (5-1-9-5) hogged the lime light in the ‘DFCC Junior’ Trophy, 14th MCA Inter-Academy U-13 /30 over League Tournament 2019, which got off to a start last week-end.

Unbeaten Pawan Jayawardena on his way to this century was associated in an unbroken 100-run partnership with Menuka Vithanage (30 not out) for the 3rd wicket, as MCA ‘Blue’ posted 186 for 2 in 30 overs against Brendon Kuruppu’s Academy, whom they beat by 71 runs.

Savin Pelpola’s remarkable spell of bowling propelled Sudath Nanayakkara Academy to a fine 88 runs win over Hemantha Ranasinghe ‘s Academy.

A fighting 75 not out by Dineth Premaratne enabled NCC to beat SSC by 18 runs on a better run-rate in a rain curtailed match.

Sasitha Amarasinghe’s Academy and Sudath Nanayakkara’s Academy won a double header. SA beat Serendib by 67 runs and Ashoka de Silva by 08 wickets. SN beat MCA ‘White’ by 117 runs and Hemantha Ranasinghe Academy by 88 runs.
