O/L students meet with accident

One student died and another student received serious injuries when they were returning home on a motorcycle after appearing for the Ordinary Level Examination in Sidambarapuram, Vavuniya yesterday.

The tragedy occurred when their motorcycle collided with a bus.

The deceased student was identified as P. Bahirdan (16) of Achchupuram, Vavuniya and the injured student is receiving treatment at the Vavuniya General Hospital, Vavuniya Police said.

Police said according to initial investigations, excessive speed of the motorcycle ridden by the students had caused the accident.
