Womens and Child Affairs, Social Security, Healthcare and Indigenous Medical Services Minister Pavithra Devi Wanniarachchi congratulated Mrs. World 2020 Caroline Jurie yesterday.

Jurie, who was crowned Mrs. Sri Lanka in October this year, won the Mrs. World 2020 pageant held in Las Vegas, United States on Saturday (7).

She won the pageant by competing with 51 other contestants.

The minister expressed her pleasure over the international reputation brought to the country by Jurie and also appreciated the remarks made by her at the grand finale.

Caroline Jurie was the second Sri Lankan to win the Mrs. World pageant after present Colombo Mayoress Rosy Senanayake, who was crowned at the maiden pageant in 1984.
