The local female Switzerland embassy employee who is alleged to have been abducted recently by an unidentified group gave a statement to the Criminal Investigation Department yesterday evening, sources said.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne recently clamped a travel ban on the alleged victim, barring her from leaving the country till today (December 9). The CID informed court that the employee had not yet made a statement and if she went abroad it would hamper investigations at that time.
Accordingly, Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne issued an order banning her from overseas travel until she makes a statement to the CID.
Earlier the alleged victim employee had refused to give a statement to the police about the incident which prompted the CID to seek a ruling from court.
