Sarada de Silva to assist East African Community Spice Exporters

Experienced Businessman in the Spice Sector, Cinnamon Exporter Sarada de Silva, assists East African Spice Community Spice Exporters to access the Europen Union (EU) markets under an EU assisted project, in his capacity as Consultant to the International Trade Centre in Geneva, of the World Trade Organization.

The major spices exported by the East African Community are cloves, pepper, ginger and turmeric, while the EU Assistance Project is known as ‘MARKUP.’

Under this project, De Silva would accompany a Group of East African Community Exporters to visit Spice processing plants in Rotterdam in the Netherlands and the ‘Food Ingredients Europe Trade Fair,’ to be held in Paris during the period 1st to 5th December 1 to 5. The program would also include visits to Rotterdam Port, Spice Warehouse in Moerkapelle and also a Spice Processing Factory in Verstegen.

The Food Ingredients Europe and Natural Ingredients Trade Fair which the Group would visit is the leading Food and Beverage Ingredients Platform. It offers businesses, a proven route to market their products to a truly global audience.
