The 14th edition of the Inter Academy U-13 and U-15 30 Over Cricket Tournaments 2019 organised by the MCA Cricket Development Committee together with the MCA Tournament Committee will take place from December 7 to 21.

The tournaments are held in culmination of the MCA Cricket Academy’s 17th anniversary celebrations. DFCC Bank has come forward to sponsor the tournament for the first time that will be contested for the ‘DFCC Junior’ Trophy.

A total of 94 matches including two finals will be played at MCA, DSS, Mattegoda, NSCA – Ratmalana, Ananda Sastralaya – Kotte and Sri Jayawardenapura College – Kotte grounds.

A 20 academies will take part in the U-13 tournament and an equal number of teams will play in the U-15 tournament out of which four teams, Brendon Kuruppu CA, Chandana Ratnayake CA, Rehan Sports CA and Swingers CA are new comers.

The academies participating in the U-13 segment are MCA (3 teams), SSC, NCC, CCC, SPS Rambukkana, Hemantha Ranasinghe CA, Sudath Nanayakkara CA, Ragama CA, Panadura School of Cricket, Brendon Kuruppu CA, Kingfisher CA, Serendib International CA, Mahara CA, Colombo Premier CA, Ready to Surpass Achievement CA, Rehan Sports CA, Sasitha Amarasinghe CA and Ashoka de Silva CA.

The academies participating in the U-15 segment are MCA (2 boys teams and one girls team), SSC, NCC, CCC, SPS Rambukkana, Hemantha Ranasinghe CA, Sasitha Amarasinghe CA, Ragama CA, Sudath Nanayakkara CA, Panadura School of Cricket, Kingfisher CA, Serendib International CA, Colombo Premier CA, Ashoka de Silva CA, Champ CA, Chandana Ratnayake CA, Brendon Kuruppu CA and Swingers CA.

The Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best Captain, Most Disciplined Team, Player of the Final and the Player of the Tournament awards will be offered as special awards for both tournaments.

CCC won the U-13 tournament as they beat MCA Blue by 8 wickets while NCC won the U15 tournament, beating Hemantha Ranasinghe CA by 6 wickets in the finals of last year edition.
