Forty teams advance to second round

Forty teams advanced to the second round of the ‘Singer Trophy’ Under 13 division 1 inter schools cricket tournament.

Seventy nine teams participated in the first round and played league basis into 10 groups.

Royal College Colombo was last year champion and St. Anthony’s College Kandy was runner up.

Last year champion and runner-up of division two Vidyaloka College Galle and S. Thomas’Prep. School Cololmbo were promoted to division one.

New comer to division One S. Thomas’Prep. School Cololmbo advanced to the second round. Forty teams in the second round will play on league basis into 8 groups. Champions and runner up teams in every group will be qualified to pre quarter final round. Semifinalists will be played on league basis and champions will be determined on points.

Wesley College Colombo, St.Benedict’s College Kotahena, Mahanama College Colombo, Royal College Colombo, Prince of Wales College Moratuwa, St. John’s College Panadura, Trinity College Kandy, Mahinda College Galle, St. Anthony’s College Kandy and Rahula College Matara advanced to the second round as chmpions in their groups.
