South East Asia’s Biggest Food and Hospitality show “Culinary Art Food Expo 2019” took place on October 21,22 and 23 at the BMICH. In line with the exhibition, the 19th edition of Sri Lanka’s one and only International Culinary Competition was also held with the participation of over 3000 chefs from Resorts, Hotels and Restaurants in Sri Lanka and many countries of the South East Asian region.
The Culinary Challenge was organized with the purposes of gathering local and regional industry professionals whilst also enabling young chefs to showcase their masterly skills and win international titles.
The event had the participation of 32 international culinary judges from 14 countries and competing teams form Maldives, India, Australia, Philippines and Abu Dhabi.
Mount Lavinia Hotel and the International Hotel School (part of the MLH Group) collectively saw 30 individuals take part in the competition across diverse culinary and bartending disciplines.
Both experienced veterans and young beginners were proud winners of gold, silver and bronze medals and the hotel wishes to express their congratulations to those who represented Mount Lavinia Hotel. The hotel has always encouraged and opened opportune doors for their staff by creating an environment of skillful learning and career growth.
