Prevailing rainy condition to continue over the island

Prevailing showery condition is expected to continue over the island next few days, said the Department of Meteorology.

Showers or thundershowers will occur in Northern, North-central, Eastern and Uva provinces and Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere after 1.00 p.m.

Heavy showers about 100-150 mm are likely at some places in Northern and Eastern provinces (Particularly Jaffna, Kilinochchi ,Mullaitivu and Trincomalee districts ) and Fairly heavy showers about 75-100 mm are likely at some places in Central, Uva, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and in Kaluthara and Anuradhapura districts.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.

General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
