The Free Media Movement (FMM) held an anti-corruption workshop for journalists at the Green Garden Hotel in Batticaloa, last Saturday. The two-day workshop focused on investigative journalism when it came to issues such as bribery.

Journalists from the Ampara, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, and Vavuniya districts participated in the event, in which they discussed different types of corruption cases, how to prepare investigative reports against them, the reliability of evidence, and how to use the Right to Information (RTI) Act to collect the necessary information.

Free Media Movement President C. Dodawatta, former FMM Treasurer Ananda Jayasekara, as well as senior journalists Thaha Muzzammil and Ameer Hussain, were the resource persons at the event. Aathil Ali Sabry was the Project Coordinator.
