12-year-old killed in wild elephant attack

A 12-year-old girl was killed in a wild elephant attack that took place last Saturday morning in Dimbulagala.

The victim has been identified as W.M.W.G. Hirushi Nishadi Dissanayake. She is a resident of the Ellewewa, Dimbulagala.

The child had been rushed to the Polonnaruwa General Hospital with critical injuries. She had been pronounced dead soon after.

Investigations are continuing.
