‘Sri Lanka will maintain non-aligned foreign policy’

Sri Lanka will maintain its non-aligned foreign policy and maintain friendly relations with all states, International Cooperation State Minister Susil Premajayantha said.

Assuming duties in his new post, the State Minister said Sri Lanka will remain an independent and sovereign nation, while maintaining close relations with the regional states and neighbouring countries.

He said President Rajapaksa and his government have faced many challenges in addressing issues in the international sphere. He added that he was looking forward to working in close collaboration with Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, Foreign Secretary Ravinatha Aryasinha and the officials of the Ministry in achieving the foreign policy objectives of the country.
