Sri Lanka’s first and largest harbour front development project Marina Square - Uptown Colombo, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, thus becoming the association’s official real estate partner for 2019/2020. The MoU would allow Marina Square to support the Bar Association in achieving their objectives and to promote the project’s urban luxury condos among the legal fraternity of Sri Lanka.

Addressing the gathering, Kaushalya Nawaratne, Secretary of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka said, “The Bar Association of Sri Lanka is looking forward to its partnership with Marina Square Colombo and is assured that it would be a mutually beneficial engagement. Marina Square Colombo, would be the Official Real Estate Partner of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka for the year 2019/2020.”

“This collaboration is a result of like-minded professionals seeking to be partakers in the development of our country. Marina Square, Colombo, has graciously extended its support to the National Law Conference, Junior National Law Conference and Provincial Law Conferences organized by the Bar Association of Sri Lanka for the above period and through it, the legal profession would be able to reap great benefits.”

“The junior members of the Bar would be the greatest beneficiaries, as they would have the opportunity of gaining knowledge and experience from highly respected senior members of the profession at the Junior National Law Conference. In this context, I take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Management of Marina Square Colombo, for rendering their stinted support to the Bar Association of Sri Lanka.”

The Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL), which is the supreme body of Attorneys-at-Law in Sri Lanka, was established in year 1974 and has played a key role in the administration of justice ever since.

The BASL, which currently holds over 20,000 memberships from all parts of the country, serves as the Federation of 87 branch associations operating islandwide, affiliated to regional courts.

Shivanka De Zoysa, Director of Marketing at Marina Square added, “The Colombo District Courts Complex is situated a mere 2 km from Marina Square, making it a very convenient location for lawyers in general.

The ease of access to all expressways and highways in the country through the new Kelani Bridge and the Elevated Highway to the Port City, would make Marina Square the ideal location for a ‘second home’ City Condo for lawyers from any part of the country.” De Zoysa added that, “Investors in Marina Square could easily earn an additional rental income by listing the Condo on platforms such as Air BnB, in order to rent it out when not in use by the home owner.”

As a fully integrated development project by three internationally reputed industry giants; Access Engineering, China Harbour Engineering Company and Mustafa Singapore, Marina Square is a project made up of 1,068 apartments over 36 floors across 5 towers and destined to be a phenomenal spectacle north of Colombo.
