No begging, selling near traffic lights

Pavement hawkers and beggars hanging around traffic colour lights will be evicted, DIG of Road Safety and Traffic of Police Lalith Pathinayake said.

He said beggars and hawkers cause heavy traffic congestion and they will be evicted to Ridigama to be rehabilitated.

“As the village lacks facilities to accommodate all of them, the Police will make them aware of the importance of distancing themselves from the areas of colour lights,” he said.
