Vanni troops donate ten houses

The troops of the Vanni Security Forces Headquarters have provided 10 houses for poor families in Kilinochchi recently.

The houses have been constructed by the personnel of the 20th Gajaba Regiment under the supervision of the Commandant of the 622 Brigade led by Vanni Commander Major General H.J.S. Gunawardane.

One house was donated to N.G. Karunarathne and his family in Urewa, Mahasenpura. A Sri Lankan in Australia, Nisan Wetthasinghe has funded its construction. Local and foreign donors have contributed to carry out the housing project.

Four more houses are under construction and they will be provided with electricity, drinking water and furniture worth Rs. 50,000. An electrical tube worth Rs. 100,000 has been fixed to supply water.

Major Generals Gunawardane and Dhammika Jayasinghe, senior Army Officers and many others participated.
