The Japanese Embassy will organize a cultural event titled Japanese Cultural Festival 2019, a Beautiful Harmony on November 9 at the Colombo City Centre from 10.00 am to 5.30 p.m. This event is organized to commemorate the enthronement of the Emperor and the dawning of a new Japanese era ‘Reiwa’ translated to mean ‘a beautiful harmony’ which is also the main theme of this year’s cultural event.
The cultural festival calls out to people of all ages.Visitors will have the opportunity to observe Ikebana and bonsai demonstrations and learn a few techmiques and skills about these traditional arts.
Young visitors will particularly enjoy an array of martial arts performances, sway to the rhythm of J-pop music and also relish in flying paper planes. Guests will be able to learn about beautiful landscape and livelihood of people on the digital screen produced by Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO).
