Tree planting campaign at garment factory in Sammanthurai

Eastern Province Chief Ministry’s Secretariat organized a Tree Planting Campaign at a Garment Factory in Sammanthurai recently under the ‘Vanaropa’ National Tree Planting Program for environmental conservation which aims at protecting the environment.

The construction of the garment factory at Sammanthurai DS division in the Ampara district is nearing completion.

The factory would provide employment opportunities for a number of youngsters from the Ampara district would commence operations soon.

Sammanthurai Divisional Secretary S.L.M. Haniffa presided over the function while Eastern Province Chief Ministry’s Secretary U.L.A. Azees was the chief guest and planted a mango sapling inaugurating the program .

Eastern Province Housing Authority General Manager R. Neduncheliyan, Ampara District Central Environmental Authority Assistant Director S. Udayarajan, Sammanthurai Pradeshiya Sabha Secretary M.A.K. Mohamed, Sammanthurai Divisional Irrigation Engineer M.S.M. Nawas , Sammanthurai Assistant Divisional Secretary A. Azik, Ampara District Rural Development Officer M.T.M. Nahib, Divisional Secretariat and Pradeshiya Sabha staff and participated at this event.
