'BIGIL' encourages a rise in female football players

Vijay and Atlee’s sports drama ‘Bigil’ has received a humongous response from fans and is enjoying a dream run at the box office. The film features Vijay in the role of a coach of Tamil Nadu women’s football team.

‘Bigil’ speaks about the identity of women and their life after marriage, which has had a great impact on the audience. Recently, a women’s football team from Madurai won the national qualifiers held in Bangalore. After being selected for the National event, the team received a grand welcome in their city.

The coach of Madurai football team, Ranjitha stated that thanks to Vijay’s ‘Bigil’, parents are encouraging their daughters to take up football. She is proud of her students who participated in ‘Bigil’ and is happy with the outcome of the sports drama. ‘Bigil’ seems to have found massive popularity with women.
