President opens more development projects in Polonnaruwa

President Maithripala Sirisena on Saturday declared open several development projects completed under ‘Pibidemu Polonnaruwa’ district development programme.

President declared open the water pump station and the tower in Kaduruwela set up to provide safe drinking water to the public under the Polonnaruwa Water Supply Project.

The Project has been set up at a cost of Rs. 2240 million covering Polonnaruwa New Town, Old Town, Kaduruwela and suburbs.

The Sevanapitiya Aquaculture Development Center built at a cost of Rs. 430 million under ‘Pibidemu Polonnaruwa’ was also opened by the President. The President vested the Rathmalkandiya Health Center constructed to provide enhanced medical facilities with the public. Rs. 110 has been spent on this programme.

The Siripura Govijana Seva Center built at a cost of Rs. 17 million was vested with the public by the President.

The Mudunkadawala Health Center constructed at a cost of Rs. 110 million was also declared open by the President. The President then opened the renovated monastery at the Nikawathalanda Sri Purwarama Viharaya. It was built at a cost of Rs. 2.5 million. The newly constructed Dhamma School building at Sri Visuddharama Vihara in Aralaganvila was also vested with the student by the President.

The Chief Incumbent of Dimbulagala Maha Kashyapa Maha Pirivena Ven. Devagala Devalankara Nayaka Thero and Maha Sanga, Governor of the North Central Province Saratha Ekanayake, Mayor Chanaka Sidatha Ranasinghe and several others were present on the occasion.
